Troops eliminates notorious bandits leader in Katsina

The Nigerian Army has successfully eliminated a well-known terrorist figure named Maikusa, who held the position of second-in-command within the terrorist group operating in Katsina state.

 

 

According to reports, the group is said to be led by the notorious terrorist known as Modi Modi.

 

During a counter-insurgency session in Kurfi and Safana Local Government Areas of Katsina State on Monday 4 March 2024, troops engaged in a shootout and successfully took down Maikusa and three other terrorists. This fierce operation also led to the clearance of terrorists’ hideouts in the region.

 

 

It was also gathered that while conducting the operation, the troops faced strong opposition from the aggressive extremists but bravely defeated the terrorists using their advanced weaponry, incapacitating some while causing the others to scatter in confusion.

 

Following the skirmish, the soldiers retrieved two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, 65 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, a homemade firearm, and a camouflage outfit.

As part of the ongoing clearance operations, the military forces also eliminated terrorist hideouts in the villages of Wurma, Shaiskawa, Yauni, and Dogon Marke in Kurfi LGA, as well as Ummadau and Zakka in Safana LGA.
