The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has strongly condemned the exclusion of the South-South region from the Federal Government's newly announced ?3.9 trillion road allocation, revealing that only a single project was designated for the entire zone despite the critical decay of its infrastructure.
?Speaking at a media parley in Abuja, PANDEF Chairman Ambassador Godknows Igali highlighted the severe economic toll the region's deplorable road network is taking on local economies, stating that trade and business activities have become "epileptic" and have drastically reduced Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
?Emphasizing that the oil-rich region remains in dire need of infrastructural development, Ambassador Igali urgently appealed to the Federal Government to review the current master plan, reconsider the South-South in the infrastructure spending allocation, and prioritize fixing the zone's vital transport corridors.
