Some inmates of the Nigerian Correctional Service Suleja Custodial Centre in Niger State have escaped.
According to reports on Radio Nigeria, the inmates were said to have escaped yesterday after the heavy downpour that started in the afternoon and led to the destruction of the wall of the Correctional Service in Suleja.
The inmates therefore took advantage of the problem and escaped from the destroyed portion of the centre.
Investigation conducted showed that some inmates were re-arrested yesterday night at Madalla by officials of the Suleja Correctional Service while efforts are on to arrest the remaining fleeing inmates.
Meanwhile, the number of the escaped inmates and those who were re-arrested is still unknown.
