Senator Lalong mourn former COCIN President Rev. Musa Gotom

Former Plateau State governor Retired Barr. Simon Bako Lalong has mourned the passing away of the former president of the Church of God in Nigeria COCIN.

Lalong in a post on Facebook expressed sorrow over the demise of the cleric whom he described as a beacon of humility, selflessness and Godly character, whose death is a significant loss that resonates with the whole of plateau state.

The statement reads;

“I express deep sorrow over the passing of former President of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Rev. Dr. Musa Gotom. This significant loss resonates across Plateau State, Nigeria, and the entire body of Christ”

“In my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the Christian community, I reflect on the late clergyman’s virtues”.

Rev. Dr. Gotom was a beacon of humility, selflessness, and godly character, embodying these qualities throughout his life.

As I mourn his departure, I acknowledge his distinguished achievements as an academic and administrator, holding various positions of trust within and beyond the Church in Plateau State and Nigeria.

His dedication to training and mentoring pastors and church workers, coupled with his efforts to fulfil the Church’s role in reconciling humanity with God and positively impacting society, leaves an indelible mark.

Though the pain of losing this elder statesman is profound, the legacies he crafted during decades of service will endure, speaking volumes and providing solace to his immediate family and the wider body of Christ.

Rev. Dr. Musa Gotom’s diverse roles, including Principal at the Theological College of Northern Nigeria, COCIN General Secretary, and three-time President of COCIN and TEKAN, will forever be remembered.
