Speaker Abbas mourns Dogara’s mother

 

The Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, has described as painful, the passing away of the mother of a former speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

Speaker Abbas, who paid a condolence visit to the former on Saturday in the company of several members of the House, said Mama Saratu Yakubu Tukur lived a life worthy of emulation.

The Speaker commiserated with Hon. Dogara, urging him to take solace in the fact that Mama Saratu’s life was full of service to humanity and selflessness.

He described the late Mama Saratu as a pillar in the life of the former Speaker, considering the kind of good home training she gave him, which enabled Dogara to be a patriotic Nigerian.

Speaker Abbas prayed to God to grant her eternal rest in paradise and give the Dogara family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Dogara, who served as Speaker in the 8th Assembly, represented Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State from 2007 to 2023.

Mama Saratu, who passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, was aged 103 and survived by five children, including the former speaker.
