Bauchi state Governor, wife, lauds INEC’s Reforms after casting their votes

 

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC for its various reforms especially the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) has improved the electoral process, making it credible and transparent.

Mohammmed who was speaking to journalists shortly after voting on Saturday in Duguri, expressed satisfaction that the electorates conducted themselves in a peaceful way void of any rancor.

“I am highly fulfilled and accomplished. We give praise and gratitude to our creator, the Almighty Allah that has made us to see this day that we are electing our new president and national assembly members after so many fears.

“I want to express my satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the polls in my polling unit, definitely we can say democracy is progressing,” he said.

Our Correspondent reports that Governor Mohammed and his wife, Aisha arrived at their Bakin Dutse, 008 Polling Unit, Yelwan Duguri in Alkaleri local government area and cast their votes at 11.20am.

Mohammed urged supporters of his party to remain focused and not to engage in any electoral malpractice for the smooth conduct of the elections in the state.

On her part, the First Lady, commended the full participation of women in the process in her polling unit, and urged them not to relent in supporting the process for democratic development.
