The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has directed States Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies to start collecting deposit from intending pilgrims for the 2018 hajj.
This directives was given by the Executive Chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad while briefing newsmen after a meeting held with Chairmen of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies, in Abuja. According to him, this will help in addressing the challenges which were faced at the just concluded hajj pilgrimage.
The Chairman who was represented by Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo, NAHCON’s Commissioner of Policy, Personnel, Management and Finance, said state pilgrims boards would start collecting 2018 Hajj fare deposits from Nov. 2017 to March 2018. He however advised the state pilgrims board to key into modern technology by using electronics transactions as this will ensure transparency in the system.
