4 plateau LGAs to benefit from an Erosion Management Project by “Help International”.

An Focal NGO under the name of Help International has coordinated a sensitization seminar in Jos, the NGO who are being consulted by the Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) plateau state are aimed at educating the public on safety,  cleanliness and sustainable environment. 
Their sole purpose is to inform, be watchful and observant and to also joined hands with the ministry of environment in other to have a very clean and erosion free society.
The team leader of the Focal NGO Dr. John Jinung has urge people to cooperate with the government and the Help International group when the need arise. He also coution the ward heads to desist from selling lands located on water ways as that will help in reducing an erosion disaster.
Meanwhile, commissioner of environment who was represented by the Deputy director ministry of Environment Engr. Pam Isaac expresses appreciation on the involvement on the project and promise to join hands with them for a successful project on the Plateau. Engr  Pam called on the general public to always ensure proper sanitation and also not to dump refuse in the water ways as that is the number on cause of erosion.
The Help International group has in their team Engineers,  Architects,  Geographers amongs other professionals who they are working with, says if need be, any house that cannot be remedy from erosion will be compensated,  or house owners evacuated. LGAs to benefit include Jos North,  Jos Sauth, Mangu and Langtang North for now, but many beneficiaries will emerge subsequently. Also they are currently operating in states like Plateau State,  sokoto,  Gombe, Nasarawa, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Kogi, Abia amongs others.
