TRAGEDY STRUCK IN KANO DURING THE POPULAR DURBA CELEBRATIONS.

Reports has it that the annual sallah festival Popularlyknown as ” Hawan Daushe” has this year ended in a tragic way due to political thuggery. Sources who narrates the incident said, alleged thugs who are the Kano governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s loyalist launch an attack on the former governor Rabiu kwankwaso’s supporters living so many people injured.

The durbar, a yearly celebrated culture of the Kano emirate characterised by spectacular equestrian display, gun salutes, pomp and pageantry, attracts spectators from around the world. However,  this year’s event witness a total turnaround when people have to run for their dear lives.

The supporters of the former governor make it a tradition to attend the durbar to show their numerical strength and pay homage to the emir, and so they were all wearing their trademark red caps when the alleged thugs to the present governor maim them with all sort of weapons ranging from machetes,  knifes and other dangerous weapons.

Thos who sustained injuries includes, former Secretary to the State Government, Rabiu Bichi; former Chief of State to Mr Kwankwaso, Yunusa Dangwani; former commissioner for State Affairs, Aminu Abdulsalam and; former commissioner of Lands, Yusuf Dambatta, and also brother to the former governor Yahaya Kwankwaso was said to have narrowly escaped being lynched.

A witness, Sani Mazaunar Tanko, said “they started attacking any person with Kwankwasiyya cap. I saw a lot of people lying in the pool of their own blood.”
“We all had to scamper for safety,” he added.
