Nigeria and Libya have resolved to deepen diplomatic collaboration to tackle irregular migration, streamline prisoner transfer arrangements, and address growing security threats across the Sahel region.

?The commitment was established during a high-level bilateral meeting between Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the State of Libya, His Excellency Mr. Taher Elbaour.

?Discussions focused on pressing cross-border issues, with both ministers underscoring the urgent need for coordinated action to stem irregular migration flows and safeguard vulnerable populations.

They also explored framework agreements for the transfer of detained citizens between both nations to ensure humane and standardized legal proceedings.

?Recognizing the complex security dynamics destabilizing the Sahel, the diplomats pledged to align their efforts in support of regional peace and stability.

Both leaders agreed to maintain active diplomatic channels to effectively advance their joint security, humanitarian, and economic priorities.
