Nigeria and Angola have reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, resolving visa hurdles, and boosting continental security during a strategic diplomatic engagement in Ethiopia.

?The agreement followed a bilateral meeting between Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and her Angolan counterpart, Ambassador Téte António, held on the sidelines of the ongoing African Union Executive Council Meeting in Addis Ababa.

?A central outcome of the discussions was a mutual agreement to streamline visa issuance for Nigerians traveling to Angola for business and tourism, a move aimed at enhancing trade, tourism, and seamless mobility between both nations.

?The two diplomats also deliberated on reciprocal support for key candidatures in international organizations, strategies for strengthening peace and security across the continent, and establishing exchange study programs to foster closer organizational ties.

Additionally, the ministers aligned strategic preparations ahead of the Extraordinary Session of the African Union Assembly, which Angola is set to host in Luanda from August 29–30, 2026.
