Court Rejects El-Rufai’s No-Case Submission, Orders Defence in Wiretapping Case

?A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a no-case submission filed by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in his ongoing trial over allegations of unlawfully intercepting the telephone communications of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

?Delivering the ruling on Monday, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik held that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence to establish a prima facie case against the defendant, thereby warranting him to enter a defence if he chooses to do so.

?Rejecting the former governor's application for discharge and acquittal, the court subsequently adjourned the matter until November 25 for the defence to open its case.
