?The Federal Government of Nigeria has strongly condemned the attack carried out by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, 10 October 2026, which tragically resulted in twelve civilian deaths and injured over 300 individuals.
?In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Oluwafemi Adeniyi, on Sunday, 11 October 2026, Nigeria described the attack as a dangerous escalation that violates Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, disregards civilian safety, and threatens peace and stability in the Middle East.
?Expressing solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Nigerian government extended deep condolences to the families of the victims, wished the injured a full recovery, and commended Saudi authorities for their rapid emergency response.
The statement called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, adhere strictly to international law, and protect civilian lives and critical infrastructure.
Reaffirming its commitment to regional stability, Nigeria reiterated its support for diplomatic initiatives and constructive dialogue aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East.
