ADELABU DENIES CALLING FOR APC REJECTION, DECRIES VIRAL MISINFORMATION

?The Media Office of the former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has debunked viral reports alleging that he called on Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the narrative as false, malicious, and a deliberate attempt to sow discord.

?In an official press statement released in October 2026, his media team clarified that the viral video being circulated by political opponents is actually an edited excerpt from a 2022 interview granted when Adelabu was the governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Oyo State.

During that period, he had advocated for voters to focus on candidate credibility rather than political parties, while simultaneously supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's presidential ambition despite contesting under a different platform.

?The statement noted that Adelabu, who recently resigned as Minister of Power to pursue his Oyo State governorship ambition, remains steadfast in his loyalty to the APC and President Tinubu.

While acknowledging his grievances over the APC primary election process in Oyo State, his media office emphasized that advocating for internal party democracy, fairness, and transparency should not be twisted into disloyalty or a call to reject the ruling party.

?Reaffirming the father-and-son relationship between Chief Adelabu and President Tinubu, the media office challenged those spreading the manipulated video to publish the full, unedited interview.

Members of the public, media organizations, and party faithful were urged to disregard the fabricated report and rely solely on verified statements from authorized representatives.
