The Bende South State Constituency (Ikwuisi) Traditional Rulers Council has formally endorsed the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for a third term in 2027, firmly dismissing claims of any existing zoning agreement in Bende Federal Constituency.
?The endorsement was announced during a solidarity visit to the Deputy Speaker led by the Chairman of the Council, Eze Uchendu Okorie, Ekwo II of Akaekwo Uzuakoli.
?Speaking on behalf of the traditional institution, Eze Okorie lauded Kalu’s transformative legislative performance and developmental impact across the federal constituency, describing any opposition to his re-election bid as a direct challenge to efficiency and competence.
?Corroborating the stance, Eze P.C. Onyegbu dismissed rumors of a regional zoning arrangement, stating that no representative from Bende had ever matched Kalu’s record in project execution, legislative oversight, and strategic national networking.

The royal fathers emphasized that retaining the Deputy Speakership position is crucial not only for Bende, but for Abia State and the broader South East region.
?In his response, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu expressed deep gratitude to the traditional rulers for their steadfast trust and royal endorsement.
Highlighting ongoing constituency interventions in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and empowerment, Kalu reaffirmed his commitment to attracting greater federal projects and delivering high-yield governance to his constituents.
