?Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Luanda, Angola, to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

According to a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), the high-level summit will focus on regional security, conflict resolution, and strategies for sustaining long-term peace across the African continent.

?Accompanied by senior defence and security officials, Vice President Shettima will join other African leaders and key stakeholders in the Angolan capital to discuss concrete mechanisms for dispute resolution and conflict prevention.

The Vice President is scheduled to deliver President Tinubu's address at the summit, outlining Nigeria's strategic position and reaffirming its longstanding leadership role in continental peacebuilding efforts.

He is expected to return to Nigeria upon the conclusion of his official engagements in Angola.
