?In a major step toward deepening diplomatic ties, the newly appointed High Commissioner of Nigeria to Sierra Leone, Ambassador Ayo Luther Ogbomode, mni, has officially presented her Letters of Credence to President Julius Maada Bio at the State House in Freetown.
?During the audience, Ambassador Ogbomode conveyed the warm greetings of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and reaffirmed Nigeria’s "unwavering commitment to further strengthening the longstanding bonds of friendship, cooperation, and brotherhood" that historically unite both nations.
She also congratulated President Bio on assuming the Chairmanship of the ECOWAS Authority, expressing Nigeria’s confidence that under his leadership, the regional bloc "would continue to advance regional integration, democratic governance, economic prosperity, peace, and collective security across West Africa."

?In response, President Bio expressed deep appreciation for Nigeria’s continued goodwill and support, reaffirming Sierra Leone's commitment to boosting bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, and security.
Paying a glowing tribute to Nigeria’s historic sacrifices during Sierra Leone's civil conflict, President Bio stated that his country remains "deeply appreciative of the solidarity, leadership, and assistance rendered during a critical period in their national history." He pledged to work hand-in-hand with Nigeria to advance regional stability and economic development across the West African sub-region.
