Minister of Women Affairs Mourns Wife of Emir of Keffi, Hajiya Maryam Faruq Iya

 

The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, has described the death of the wife of Emir of Keffi, Hajiya Maryam Faruq Iya as a personal loss to her and the entire Keffi Emirate.

In a statement on Sunday signed by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Jonathan Eze, the minister stated that she would be greatly missed for her compassion, kindness and contributions to the development of women and the Emirate at large.

The Minister also condoled with the Emir, Alhaji Shehu Chindo Yamusa III and the government of Nasarawa State on the devastating loss.

The Statement reads in parts : “On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, I express my deepest condolences to the Government of Nasarawa State, the Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, and the entire Keffi Emirate on the heartbreaking loss of Hajiya Maryam Faruq Iya Dua.

“Hajiya Maryam Faruq Iya Dua was a respected and esteemed member of the Keffi community, known for her unwavering dedication to community service and her tireless efforts in promoting the welfare of women and children. Her passing is a significant loss to the community and beyond.

“Here invaluable contributions to the development of the Keffi Emirate and her unwavering commitment to the empowerment of women and girls. Her legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire and guide future generations.

“During this difficult time, I also extend my heartfelt sympathies to the Emir, the bereaved family, and the entire Keffi Emirate. May Allah in his infinite mercy grant them the fortitude to bear this immense loss and grant Hajiya Maryam Faruq Iya Aljannah Firdaus. Ameen
