Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has assured that his administration will not interfere with the operations of the newly established Bauchi State Road Traffic Agency (BAROTA)

Mohammed made the pledge during the passing out parade of the first batch of 500 Cadets and Marshals of the agency, held at Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu Square, Government House Bauchi on Saturday.

Mohammed explained that BAROTA was established to address the growing challenges of road traffic management, safety, and law enforcement in the state.

The agency’s functions include traffic law enforcement, accident prevention and investigation, road safety awareness, and advocacy.

The Governor emphasized that BAROTA has been entrusted with the power to enforce the law in accordance with international best practices.

He cautioned the Cadets and Marshals to serve as peacekeepers, educators, and protectors of public safety.

Gov Mohammed also assured that his administration remains committed to supporting BAROTA, including equipping the agency with modern technology and tools to enhance efficiency.

He directed all Local Government Chairmen in the state to liaise with BAROTA to establish local government offices for efficient coordination and seamless operation of the agency throughout the state.

The Director General of BAROTA, Ahmed Tijjani Baba Gamawa, assured that the agency’s road marshals will operate within the ambit of the law, as their training was of international standard and in compliance with global best practices.
