Russian President Putin Apologizes for Azerbaijan Airlines Crash Amid Controversy

According to reports Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to Azerbaijan following the tragic downing of an airliner that killed 38 people.

However, he refrained from accepting responsibility, stating the incident occurred during Russian air defense operations against Ukrainian drones.

The Azerbaijan Airlines flight was struck as it attempted to land in Chechnya, leading to a crash in Kazakhstan.

Ukraine’s President Zelensky has demanded clarity on Russia’s involvement, as experts suggest the aircraft was affected by missile fire.

Meanwhile, several Azerbaijan airlines have suspended flights to Russia pending investigations.
