The Gombe State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project has commenced the enrollment and validation of beneficiaries for the first phase of its Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program across the 11 Local Government Areas of the state.
During a training session for enumerators, the Project Coordinator, Dr. Amina Haruna Abdul, emphasized the importance of the exercise in ensuring that target beneficiaries are accurately identified.
She stated that the validation process is crucial to finalizing arrangements for the disbursement of funds as schools prepare to reopen after the holidays.
Dr. Amina revealed that a situation room has been set up at the AGILE office to facilitate real-time monitoring, guidance, and support for enumerators. This setup aims to ensure the exercise is carried out efficiently and with precision.
The coordinator also noted that the project had previously conducted grassroots awareness campaigns across communities to sensitize stakeholders. These campaigns engaged District Heads, Local Government Executives, Education Secretaries, NGOs, and School-Based Management Committees to ensure widespread understanding of the initiative.
Additionally, sensitization meetings were held in the state’s three senatorial districts, focusing on providing second-chance education opportunities for girls to complete their secondary education and promoting scholarships under the AGILE project.
Stakeholders across all senatorial districts reaffirmed their commitment to the initiative, pledging to support its successful implementation to benefit their respective communities.
