The Federal Government’s Accelerated Senior Secondary Education Programme (ASSEP) has partnered with the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to enhance exam preparation for 13,295 students across Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, and Yobe states.
This initiative aims to improve student learning, foster healthy competition, and promote excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects
Launched by Vice President Kashim Shettima, ASSEP focuses on subjects related to science, technology, mathematics, and agricultural (STEMA) courses, targeting senior secondary school students across the six North-East states: Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe.

Hajiya Ladi Hamma Mohammed Deputy Director School Services Ministry of Education, Bauchi State Focal Person for ASSEP, praised the smooth execution of the exam, noting that students were focused and cooperative.
“Quiz Assessment would evaluates students’ readiness for national exams like WAEC, NECO, and JAMB.
“The State-wide Implementation with first batch commenced in Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, and Yobe; second batch to follow in Adamawa and Taraba States
“Pilot Schools are seven selected secondary schools in Bauchi State participating in the program,” she said
Mr. Gbenga Ojo, ASSEP Supervisor Exams, commended the candidates’ discipline and the staff’s dedication to ensuring a seamless process.
Students Hadiza Saliu and Zainab Isa Abdulahi expressed gratitude for the program, stating that the quiz assessment provides valuable revision material and enhances their knowledge ahead of national exams.
