The Borno Youth for Sustainable Development (BYSD) has commended Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammadu Badaru Abubakar, for his tireless efforts to improve security in the North East and across the nation.
This is contained in a communique issued at the end of an emergency meeting on Sunday in Bauchi, signed by the Chairman,BYSD, Mr Salisu Usman Alhaji made available to Journalists in Bauchi.
The statement expressed gratitude for the minister’s dedication and urged him to continue his good work.
The group said, Badaru Abubakar has been working tirelessly to promote peace and stability in Nigeria, particularly in the North East region.
“So far Borno and Yobe states in the North East have witnessed relative peace after tackling ISWAP, Boko Haram which giving way for the rapid socio-economic transformation of the states’
‘The spate of kidnapping, terrorism and violent crimes around corridors of Taraba and Adamawa states is similarly witnessing significant decline. This development is attributed to the quality and effective leadership demonstrated by the Honourable Minister of Defence.’
*Since assuming office on August 22, 2023, he has emphasized, promoted and strengthened the cooperation and synergy among security stakeholders to address insecurity. The absence of synergy for a long time has undermined the counter insurgency efforts of the Government.” it said
“We are shocked at growing efforts by detractors aiming to malign and undermine great achievements of the Honourable Minister. We urge President Tinubu to disregard the unpatriotic call for his sack’

urging troops always at various theaters such as Operation Lafiya Dole and Operation HADARIN DAJI to sustain their efforts toward ensuring safety across Nigeria, acknowledging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to their welfare and operational challenges
The group pledged to support the minister to deliver his programmes of ensuring security and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria as mandated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
