NDLEA zone “B” Yola partners MCRP to create awareness on drug abuse in schools

 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA Zone B, Yola has collaborated with the Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project MCRP to organize MEGA WADA sensitization across the twenty-one Local Government Areas in Adamawa state.

The sensitization aimed to eradicate drug abuse among the students.

The Zonal commander, DCGN, Idris Muhammed Bello stated this while delivering his WADA lecture at the Government Senior Secondary School Michika.

Bello explained the dangers and effects of drug abuse among the communities and the consequences and ways to tackle the issue of drug abuse in society for the development and peaceful coexistence in the Zone.

Commander Muhammed Bello said that drug abuse among the communities, especially the youths, is very dangerous, and called on stakeholders, organizations, parents, and individuals to support the NDLEA to succeed in the fight against drug abuse.

He advised the youth to do everything possible to avoid drug abuse to protect their health and life for peace and development.

In a statement by Ahmed Jidda, ASNISO Media, and Advocacy NDLEA Zone B Yola said the NDLEA and MCRP visited the secondary schools in Adamawa Northern zone, which include Madagaki, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, and Maiha Local Government Areas.

The statement explained that the NDLEA inaugurated the WADA Club in various secondary schools in the Northern Zone.

The NDLEA Commander, Idris charged members of the club to be responsible for the fighting against drug abuse in their various schools and the zone at large.

In their separate responses, the students stressed their gratitude for organizing WADA Sensitisation and promised to work closely with NDLEA to fight drug abuse among them and other students in the zone and the state at large.
