USAID ICHSSA enrolls 3,283 vulnerable persons on health insurance in Bauchi

The USAID Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award( ICHSSA-4) project has enrolled 3,283 orphans and vulnerable households in the Bauchi state health Contributory scheme. In the family for years.

Dr Joseph Inyag, Chief of Party USAID at the premium stated this at the end of a One day stakeholders engagement held in Bauchi on Thursday.

According to him, the interventions aimed at supporting Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and their families in Bauchi State would uplift the status of beneficiaries.

He said that the five year project in partnership with Pro Healthcare International, Catholic Relief Services and PEPFAR and participating states includes;Adamawa, Bauchi,Taraba, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara.

“The Cash Transfer Scheme: has reached 1,503 beneficiaries, each receiving NGN 20,000, amounting to a total of NGN 30,060,000 for the period of this ceremony.

“The total amount for these interventions is N 40,869,000 The ICHSSA-4 project, a five-year initiative (2019-2024), is implemented by Pro-Health International,”he said.

However, Dr Aisha Mohammed, First lady of Bauchi state,represented by Hajiya Zainab Takko, Commissioner for Women Affairs,Child Development and Social welfare said that the occasion represents a significant stride toward fostering positive change and empowerment within our communities.
