Lawmaker distributes 1000 Bags of Potassium to Herdsmen in Bauchi

Representative Jafaru Gambo Leko, a member of the House of Representatives for Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, has distributed 1000 bags of potassium to Fulani herdsmen to promote cattle health and breeding.

 

Speaking at the flagging of the distribution of potassium at Sabon Gital in Tafawa Leko on Tuesday said said the initiative is part of his campaign promises and empowerment programs for his constituents.

 

He said potassium is an essential nutrient for cattle, playing a vital role in various bodily functions.

“Like potassium chloride or potassium sulfate, can be added to cattle feed to ensure adequate intake.

Leko has also pledged to provide water and vaccinate the herdsman’s cattle within the next two weeks.

“This move is expected to support the livelihoods of the Fulani herdsmen and enhance the overall cattle industry in the region,” Leko said.

Responding, Alhaji Usman Ardo, Chairman of the Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area,

He said Leko, as a first-term member of the House of Representatives, has demonstrated his commitment to his constituents’ welfare and economic development.

“His efforts align with the broader goals of Bauchi State, which relies heavily on agriculture and livestock production

He said this distribution of resources and Leko’s promise of further support underscore his dedication to improving the lives of his constituents and promoting economic growth in the region.
