Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Gombe State and Nigeria as the state marks its 28th anniversary, alongside Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.

In his goodwill message, the Governor reflected on the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s founding fathers and highlighted the remarkable progress Gombe has achieved since its creation.

A statement signed by his spokesperson, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, emphasized significant achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and job creation.

The Governor attributed this progress to the collective efforts of the citizens and urged them to continue fostering unity and celebrating the state’s cultural diversity.

Governor Yahaya also acknowledged the economic challenges caused by the removal of fuel subsidies but reassured the public of his administration’s commitment to easing these difficulties.

He pointed to ongoing palliative measures, including food distribution programs and transport allowances for workers, aimed at mitigating the impact of inflation.

In a significant act of clemency, Governor Yahaya approved the release of 23 prisoners and commuted the sentences of several others, including reductions of life and death sentences.

He expressed hope that this gesture would offer the individuals a chance for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

The Governor’s message underscores his administration’s focus on unity, progress, and justice reform as Gombe State continues on its path of development.
