A new chapter has begun for Gombe’s Youth Assembly as Safiyanu Danladi Mairiga, representing Akko North, takes the helm as the newly inaugurated Speaker for the 4th Republic.
Christian Gideon Musa of Billiri East was also sworn in as Deputy Speaker in a ceremony aimed at reinforcing the Assembly’s dedication to empowering the youth of Gombe State.
In his inaugural address, Mairiga laid out a vision focused on tackling youth-related challenges, such as unemployment and insecurity, while improving access to quality education.
He pledged to drive meaningful changes that will ensure young people’s concerns are prioritized in governance, emphasizing the importance of strong leadership and proactive engagement with the government.
Deputy Speaker Christian Gideon Musa echoed these sentiments, stressing the need for collaboration and unity within the Assembly.
She reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with Mairiga and other lawmakers to ensure that Gombe’s youth are not only represented but also given opportunities to thrive.
Key stakeholders, including the outgoing Ambassador of YAN, Amb. Mole Istifanus Bennett, expressed their confidence in the new leadership.
They encouraged the newly elected officers to remain steadfast in their mission to uplift the youth, while fostering partnerships with government bodies and non-governmental organizations to create job opportunities and address other key issues.
As the new leadership takes charge, the Gombe Youth Assembly is set to chart a progressive course, with promises of innovative solutions and a renewed focus on youth development.
