The Gombe State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has inaugurated a five-member caretaker committee to steer the affairs of the party in the state.

The state executive members led by Abdullahi Abdullahi Mohammed were sworn on Monday in accordance with the provisions of the party’s constitution, to spearhead the affairs of the party in the next six months.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration, the caretaker committee chairman, Abdullahi Mohammed, said the committee was established to strengthen the party’s structures in the state.

He added that the mandate of the committee includes ensuring mobilising support at the grassroots support level and engaging with all stakeholders to promote unity among members of the party.

The chairman urged members of the party to put their differences aside and support the committee to deliver its mandate, and make the party stronger ahead of the next general election.

“The success of this committee is a collective responsibility of every member, to build a stronger and inclusive NNPP that will serve the interest of people of Gombe and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.
