The traditional title holder of Bargan Gombe, Hon. Abubakar Sadeeq Gidado, has made an appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider Abdul’aziz Abdul’aziz for the position of Presidential Spokesperson, following the resignation of Ajuri Ngelale.
Abdul’aziz, born and educated up to university level in Kano, Nigeria, began his career as a creative writer and newspaper contributor before securing his first journalism job in 2007.
Since then, he has served in various roles across Nigeria’s media landscape. Prior to being considered for the presidential spokesperson role, Abdul’aziz was the Deputy General Editor of the Daily Trust newspaper.
His credentials include participation in several journalism and creative writing workshops, such as the British Council writing workshop led by Bernadine Evaristo and the Farafina Trust/Chimamanda Adichie workshop in 2012. His contributions to journalism and creative writing have earned him numerous nominations and awards, and his poems have been anthologized.
Bargan Gombe, after carefully observing Abdul’aziz’s achievements, made a passionate plea to President Tinubu. He emphasized that Abdul’aziz’s extensive experience in the media industry makes him the most suitable candidate to fill the position of presidential spokesperson. Gombe noted that Abdul’aziz has spent over a decade honing his skills in media, communication, and public relations.
Throughout his career, Abdul’aziz has demonstrated a deep understanding of media dynamics, communication strategies, and public relations. His ability to engage with both traditional and modern media platforms positions him as uniquely capable of addressing the diverse communication needs of the presidency. Moreover, his professionalism and integrity have garnered him widespread respect within the industry.
Bargan Gombe further highlighted Abdul’aziz’s commitment to ethical journalism and honest communication, qualities that would ensure he represents the presidency with credibility and transparency. In a time when public trust in government communications is more critical than ever, Abdul’aziz’s reputation and skills make him the ideal successor to Ajuri Ngelale, ensuring continuity and excellence in the office of the presidential spokesperson.
