Senator Jibrin Barau Urges Nigerian youths to be Innovative, Focused and Promote Peace

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I Jibrin, has urged youths across the country to promote peace, be focused and be innovative in all their activities to address the challenges facing the country.

He made the call when he received the APC X (Twitter) Eagle Forum’s leadership at his Abuja residence at the weekend.

Senator Barau, who is the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, said the future of Nigeria rests in the hands of the youths, adding that they must prepare themselves to lead with the country’s best interests at heart.

Taking them back into his early political journey, Senator Barau reminisced how he was mentored by patriotic politicians like the late Malam Aminu Kano and Alhaji Abubakar Rimi, among others, who sacrificed their time, energy and resources for the development of the country.

” These leaders dedicated their lives to the development of Nigeria and it is incumbent upon us to carry forward their legacy with integrity and commitment,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of constructive political engagement, advising the members of the forum to focus on promoting the achievements of the All Prograssives Congress (APC) rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric.

” You have a significant role to play in politics. Especially now, you should know that you are the future leaders. The country needs you to be ready and prepared to become leaders; you should, therefore, emulate patriotic leaders who always have the country at heart.

“So I commend you for creating this forum as it will strengthen our party and government. So, I urge you to be focused and follow the right trajectory for the betterment of the country,” he said.

Earlier in their respective remarks, the Chairman and Secretary of the forum, Ahmad Gogel and Muhammad Ibrahim Tudun Wada, commended the Deputy President of the Senate for sponsoring the bill for the establishment of the North West Development Commission (NWDC)

While thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assenting the bill, they said when the commission takes off, it will assist in tackling the challenges facing the North West geopolitical zone.

They presented a nomination letter to Senator Barau as the forum’s Grand Patron.
