Pastor Zinas Gugu, a Christian cleric, has admonished youths in tertiary institutions to reject unwholesome practices, including same-sex marriage, lesbianism, drunkenness, sexual immorality, and exam malpractice.

He made this appeal during a 5-day convention for the Nigeria Association of Adventist Students from the Plateau-Bauchi Savannah Zone, held in Bauchi.

“With over 320 youths in attendance, Pastor Gugu emphasized the need for Christian youths to represent Christ in their institutions by emulating His virtues of love, patience, joy, and tolerance,” he said.

He encouraged them to embrace holiness through modest dressing, constant scripture study, ceaseless prayer, and setting a good example for others.

Pastor Gugu expressed concern over the low membership of the Adventist Church in the North and urged youths to engage in massive evangelism on their campuses and communities to win more souls.

The President of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pastor Joshua Ezra Mallum, and the Director of Public Campus Ministry, Pastor Kawusu David Umaru, also emphasized the importance of emulating Christ’s character in academics, social, and spiritual lives.

The conference featured lectures, medical outreach, counseling, skill acquisition, song service, and sports, aiming to equip Christian youths to counter societal challenges with Christ-like character.
