Senator Monguno empowers 750 women in Borno

Senate Chief whip, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno, of the Borno North senatorial district, has empowered over 750 youths and women in his constituency as a way of bringing succour to his people.

 

Senator Monguno, who is the vice chairman of Senate committee on Appropriation in collaboration with the Center for Management Development (CMD) empowered Borno North youths and women through a 3-Day Capacity-Building Training Programme.

 

Indeed, the sum of N37.5 million was cumulatively disbursed to participants as starter package.

 

Specifically, the three-day capacity-building training programme centered on the influence of Information Communication Technology (ICT) on economic growth.

“Each of the participant received a starter package of fifty thousand naira N50,000.00”.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the empowerment programme, Senator Tahir Monguno, who was represented by the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy chairman in Borno state, Alhaji Kalla Maina said ICT capacity-building training and empowerment play a significant role in youth development, stressing that it has profound impact on skills, and future of the youths.

 

“By investing in ICT capacity-building training and empowerment, we can unlock the potential of young people, promote sustainable development, economic growth, and social progress.

“I strongly urge you the beneficiaries to make use of the package received positively” Monguno added.

Notable stakeholders within and outside the senatorial district attended the closing ceremony.

 

This followed the improved security situation in Borno North senatorial zone and Borno state in general.
