NUJ Mourns Emir of Ningi, Two Journalists, Describes Deaths as ‘Irreparable Loss

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bauchi State Council has expressed deep sadness over the passing of the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya, describing it as a loss to the entire country.

This is contained in a statement, the union recalled the late Emir’s contributions to the growth and development of traditional institutions in northern Nigeria and his efforts in promoting peace and harmony among governments.

The NUJ also condoled with the families of two of its members, Aliyu JIBO and Babangida Mohammed, who died on Sunday after a protracted illness.

The union described their deaths as a “minus to the journalism profession” and prayed for their souls to rest in peace.

The statement urged the state government, Bauchi Council of Emirs, Ningi Emirate, and the people of the state to bear the loss with fortitude.

The NUJ prayed for the deceased to be rewarded with Jannatul Firdausi and their families to have the strength to bear the loss.
