The Gombe State police command has acknowledged the arrest of a 3 year old man Yahaya Salisu for impersonating the police to defraud innocent and unsuspecting people.
A statement signed by the Deputy Public Relations Officer DPRO Gombe State revealed that, on 01/08/2024 at about 2050hrs Intelligent report revealed that one Yahaya Salisu ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Dandabole ward via Nafada LGA, Gombe State was parading himself as a policeman attached to Gombe State Police Command and cheated some individuals.
Subsequently, the suspect was arrested in connection to the alleged offences and during the course of investigation and interrogation he voluntarily confessed to have committed the offence. Hence, the suspect will soon be charged to Court for prosecution.
In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police CP Hayatu Usman psc advices the general public to be wary of such criminal elements and should always report any complain direct to the nearest Police Division/Formation.
