The Bauchi State Government has issued a cautionary statement advising against any form of protest within the state.
Mr Ibrahim Kashim, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) stated this at a news conference on Wednesday in Bauchi.
He said the advisory likely stems from concerns over public safety and order. It’s important to stay updated through official channels for any changes or developments regarding this matter.
According to him,this comes amidst growing concerns and preparations across the country regarding the planned national protests.
“Underscoring the state’s stance on maintaining lawfulness and order while dispelling misinformation regarding healthcare services during this period.
He asserted its stance against any form of protest within the state., saying that the State Government will not tolerate any protest activities.
Kashim emphasised that security agencies are prepared to handle any individuals or groups intending to participate in the protest.
The SSG issued a stern warning to individuals planning a national protest cautioning them to vacate or potentially face severe legal consequences.
Khashim pointed out that the State is committed to upholding law and order and asserted that all security agencies would take decisive action against any attempts to disrupt peace and stability during the planned protests across the country.
He clarified that the state government does not endorse nor tolerate such activities that could potentially threaten public safety and security.
He underscored the government’s responsibility to maintain peace and protect citizens from any form of disturbance.
The Secretary to Government also dismissed circulating rumors suggesting that the government planned to close Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) on the day of the protests.
He assured the public that PHCs and essential services would operate as usual, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted access to healthcare for all residents of the state
