Speaker Abbas felicitates new NBA President, says House’ll work for better judiciary, legal profession

 

 

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, has extended his congratulations to the newly elected President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Speaker Abbas, in his congratulatory message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, also congratulated all the newly elected members of the national executive council of the NBA, which is the umbrella body of lawyers in the bar in Nigeria.

He commended the NBA and its members for conducting peaceful elections, while also congratulating the outgoing NBA President, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau (SAN), for his successful tenure.

The Speaker, who noted that the 10th House under his leadership was willing to work with the NBA towards a better judicial system for the country, said the parliament would partner the new leadership towards addressing challenges affecting the legal profession

He wished the newly elected NBA leadership a successful tenure as they get set to take over in the coming weeks.
