Protest: Don’t destroy your home, FCT CM, Igweh appeals to residents

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, CP Benneth Igweh, has appealed to residents of Federal capital territory to refrain from the attitude of vandalising Government’s property under the guise of protest.

CP Igweh gave advice while responding to questions from journalists at the command’s headquarters in Abuja.

The FCT Police boss said though peaceful protest is a constitutional right of citizens, but it is sad that miscreants always hide under the guise of protest to vandalise government properties.

According to CP Igweh, “I want to tell all indigene and everybody in the FCT, Lion’s don’t destroy its den. I appeal to you all, don’t join the protest, we have suffered enough in the hands of these miscreants. We went outside Abuja to fight them. We have been to Kaduna, Nasarawa to fight them. These unscrupulous elements do hide under the guise of protest to destroy the FCT, destroy your home”.

The government is doing all it could to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians. I lost some of my men in the last few weeks of our intensified efforts to rid the Federal capital territory of criminals, let our loss pay for the protest” He said.
