The chief Imam of Jos central mosque sheikh Muhammad Lawal Adam has passed away.
The religious leader died today 11th in the afternoon after a brief illness a statement by the Jamaatul Nasrul Islam (JNI) Publicity Secretary of Plateau State Alhaji Sani Mudi revealed.
The statement reads;
“Inna Lillaahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raaji’oun 😭
The death has occurred of the Chief Imam of Jos Central mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Lawal Adam, this afternoon 11/07/2024, after a brief illness. He was aged 80.
He was an erudite scholar, Islamic jurist, reknowned Mufassir, (exegist) of the Holy Qur’an and a respected Leader of the Muslim Ummah.
He was appointed Deputy Chief Imam in the year 2009 and later Chief Imam in 2015.
He will be buried tomorrow morning after funeral prayers.
The Muslim Ummah in Jos sorely miss such a respected scholar and Leader.
Allahumma Agfir lahu warhamhu wa’afu anhu.
May Allah grant him jannatul firdaus ameen.
