The Bauchi State Head of Service Alhaji Yahuza Adamu has advised Local Government Area (LGAs) Civil Servants on professionalism, commitment and royalty to enhance development of the society through the civil service in the state.
Adamu gave the advice during a 2 day sensitisation workshop for promotion exams of over 2000 local government staff from 20 LGAs on Wednesday in Bauchi,
He said the workshop aimed at sensitisation to educate and prepare staff for upcoming promotion opportunities within the local government sector.
The HoS represented by Mr Ibrahim Gambaki Permanent Secretary General administration emphasized the importance of loyalty, commitment, and professionalism among civil servants.
On his part, Alhaji Abubakar Wabi, Chairman Local Government Service Commission highlighted that good qualities of civil servants are crucial not only for individual career growth but also for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of local government operations.
He encouraged the participants to uphold the civil service standards in their daily duties, thereby contributing to improved service delivery and governance at the grassroots level.
“This initiative underscores the Bauchi State Government’s commitment to fostering a competent and motivated workforce across its local government structure,” he said.
Alhaji Gambo Magaji, A consultant for the promotion Examination and Chief Executive Officer of Dugge Management Services Limited explained that eight papers would be presented to the participants in two days .
“The papers include history of Nigeria civil service, discipline and regulations procedures in local government , Financial services, basic tools of administration ,
Others are general knowledge, public procurement, information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the civil service among others.
