The Bauchi pilgrims praised the State government and the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (MPWB) for the successful pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
They made the commendation in a interview with ours correspondent on Wednesday in Bauchi..
The last batch of about 290 pilgrims who performed this year’s Hajj has returned home after spending 38 days in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Alhaji Garba Mohammed said the journey was reportedly smooth and well-organized, ensuring that pilgrims were able to perform their religious duties with ease and comfort.
He said they appreciated the efforts of both the government and the MPWB for their role in facilitating a successful pilgrimage experience this 2024.
Hajiya Jamila Adam, pilgrims commended the state government for providing the necessary support to perform a smooth pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
The Governor Bala Mohammed has completed our Hajj fare to Mecca, made adequate arrangements for the pilgrims’ travel and stay in Saudi Arabia and gift of Money.
On his Part, Imam Abdulrahman Idris,The Executive Secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board attributes the successful completion of the Hajj exercise was to early preparations
“Timely securing of visas for pilgrims, and support from the governor Mohammed.
He said Gov. Mohammed also approved a subsidy of N959,000 for each of the 1,652 intending pilgrims from the state, totaling over N2.5 billion and a subsidy
“The government also gifted each of the 2,682 intending pilgrims $100 and an additional 300 riyals in the Holy Land to support them during their stay,”
Imam Idris also commended the governor for his support and commitment to ensuring a successful Hajj exercise.
The Executive Secretary also commended the media team for their role in keeping the public informed throughout the exercise,” he said.
