Jigawa State first lady lauds council Chairman’s visionary leadership as she commissions projects in Gwaram

The Executive Chairman of Gwaram Local Government Council, Hon. Zahraddeen Abubakar, has today played host to the Jigawa State First Lady, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi.

The first lady was in Gwaram to commission legacy projects executed by the Gwaram Council Chairman.

Since his assumption of office as Council Chairman, Hon. Zahraddeen Abubakar has executed critical projects which have direct positive bearing on improving the quality of life of the people of Gwaram Local Government Area.

Attaching priority and importance to water, health, education, power and other critical sectors, the Chairman, in his barely 3 years stint, has repaired more than 400 handpump boreholes, installed 70 others, renovated 30 primary healthcare facilities, 14 transformers, repaired 60 solar-powered boreholes and executed a number of other impactful projects.


Today, the Chairman has yet achieved another milestone as he welcomed to Gwaram Local Government Her Excellency the First Lady of Jigawa State, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, to officially commission some projects.

In a manner that evinces his careful thought and respect, he named the projects after the Jigawa State Governor, Jigawa State First Lady, former Council Chairmen and other respected personalities.

He explained that the action was to honour them in view of the contribution and selfless services they rendered to Gwaram Local Government.

The projects commissioned are:

1. Malam Umar Namadi Modern Agro-commodity Market Sabuwar Gwaram
2. Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi Primary Healthcare Sharifori
3. Hon. Bala Sule Kila Primary Healthcare Bango
4. Hon. Auwalu Sule Kila Primary Healthcare Jingino
5. Hon. Ahmed Rufa’i Sa’idu Primary Healthcare Sagi

After the renovation, the Chairman has supplied medical equipment, drugs and beds to the health centres.

While performing the official inauguration, Hajiya Hadiza Namadi commended the Council Chairman for executing the projects, describing him as a visionary leader who has his people at heart.

She further rained praises on the Chairman for his transformative initiatives especially the ones that target women and the less privileged individuals.

The event was graced by different dignitaries within and outside the council area.
