NEDC committed to ensure development – Official

Mr Ibrahim Bashir, the Bauchi state Coordinator of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has reiterated that the commission was committed toward ensuring the development of the North-East region.

Bashir stated this on Saturday while handing over the NEDC pavilion at the Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida Square in the ongoing Northeast trade fair in Bauchi state to the North East Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture (NECCCIMA).

According to him, the commission was working round the clock to ensure that no state is left behind in terms of development in every facet of life.

“NEDC is always ready for anything that would enhance the development of the North-East region. They are always ready to help, take part in such developmental issues.

“So, should there be anything, not only the trade fair but any other developmental activities that are being requested and forwarded to the Northeast, I’m sure the NEDC will take prompt action to ensure that there is development in the Northeast region,” he said.

Receiving the structure, Mr Bala Suleiman, Deputy President, North East Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture (NECCCIMA), lauded the NEDC for donating the structure.

He said that Bauchi state has been selected to conduct an international trade fair and the structure donated by the NEDC has further strengthened the state’s preparation in conducting the international trade fair.

“Bauchi state is among the states that, about three years ago, approved to conduct an International trade fair along with Portharcourt which has already conducted theirs.

“We are now much more prepared with this infrastructure put in place and we assure you that very soon, Bauchi will prepare itself for an international trade fair,” he said.
