The Gombe State University (GSU) Governing Council has approved the promotion of eleven (11) Readers to the position of Professors.
The University’s Registrar, who is also the Council’s Secretary, Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto, in a release made available to newsmen, said the Council also approved the promotion of five (5) Senior Lecturers to the Rank of Readers in various area of specialization.
According to him, the Council approved the promotions based on favourable external assessment reports during the Governing Council’s Regular Meeting held on Thursday 23rd May, 2024.
He gave the names of the newly promoted Professors as; Dr. Sani Ahmed Yauta,
Dr. Mary Erasmus Sule, Dr. Abubakar Joshua Difa, Dr. Ibrahim Lai, Dr. Ambe Alfred Neba, Dr. Ediba Isaac Ogbodo, Dr. Mathew Funsho Bello and Dr. Dahiru Inuwa Ibrahim.
Others are; Dr. Safiyanu Ishiaku, Dr. Shamsuddeen U. Ilyas and Dr. Mu’azu Usman Shehu.
The five Senior Lectures promoted to the rank of Readers are; Dr. Abubakar M. Saidu, Dr. Idoma Kim, Dr. Mustapha A. Danimoh, Dr. Dauda Kala and Dr. Gideon 0.0. Owoicho.
The Governing Council Secretary further explained that the promotions were ratified following the acknowledgement of their scholarly works, teaching excellence, commitment to duty, and outstanding contributions in their respective fields and to the University.
