Emirate tussle : Sheikh Dahiru foundation i urged Kano govt to obey court order

Sheikh Usman Dahiru-Bauchi Foundation has advised the Kano State government to respect rule of law in the interest of peace, stability of the State and the country.

It could be recalled that the Federal High Court’s issues an order restraining the Kano State Government from repealing the Kano Emirate Council Law 2019.

The Chairman of the foundation,Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru-Bauchi made the appeal at a news conference on Sunday in Bauchi

He said the importance of respecting the rule of law would be overemphasized, saying, the peace and tranquility of the state is better and bigger than any individual.

He urged all arms of government to work together in harmony to ensure peace, stability, and progress in the state.

He faulted the Kano State government decision to continue with the process of appointing the 16th emir of Kano, and dethroned the five emirs despite the court injunction.

Dahiru-Bauchi further advised the dethroned emirs to remain in the interest of peace brotherhood to save shedding the blood and allow peace and stability to reign.

He commended the judiciary and security agencies for upholding the rule of law and ensuring peace returns to the state.

He urged the National Assembly to make laws that traditional institutions in Nigeria must be strengthened and protected from the influence of elected politicians.
