We Donate Blood Voluntarily To Facilities —Yobe Red Cross

The Red Cross Society in Yobe State, said they have donated blood freely to some health facilities in the 17 Local Government Areas of the State as part of activities to celebrate the Red Cross.

 

The Yobe Branch Secretary, Murtala Aji Aliyu, told our reporter in an interview that it was done as part of their voluntary service.

 

He said other activities carried out by the society was Sanitation exercise in at least one facility in all the Local Governments.

 

Murtala Aliyu disclosed that a rally walk was also held in almost 7 divisions with a Bigger Mega Rally held in Potiskum Local Government Area of the state.

 

He explained that they recorded about 3 divisions that donated Blood willingly and Freely to some facilities to assist the less privileged who have no means of accessing blood easily when brought to the hospital.

 

He explained the teaming volunteers were educated on the importance of dedication and volunteerism in the activities of the Red Cross.

 

He called on the Government to come to the Aid of the society in the running of their day to day activities to enable them discharge their duties effectively.

Murtala, appreciated the Effort of the Movement Partners of ICRC for the Support and all other partners that assisted them in carrying out the Celebration

Similarly, in Gombe State, the Red Cross organised a Radio show, rally, football competition, and Hospital Sanitation and consultation., & Barbecue for the Teeming Volunteers
