Foundation trains 120 Islamic aid group members on rescue of children at Eid ground in Bauchi

A Wunti Al-khair Foundation in collaboration with Jamatul Nasurul Islam (JNI) in Bauchi state has trained 120 members of Joint Islamic Aid groups on the search and rescue of missing children and to ensure hitch-free Sallah celebrations in the state.

The Chairman of Joint Islamic Aid Groups in the State Alhaji Ibrahim Sani, stated this at the opening ceremony of a 2-day workshop for the Islamic aid group members on Monday in Bauchi.

He noted that the objective of the training is to provide a conducive atmosphere and hitch-free Sallah celebrations across the state.

Sani said the training was to provide participants with basic and technical skills in search and rescue of missing children, crowd and traffic management.

“Emergency response, public enlightenment as well as risk communication ahead of Eid El fitr Sallah celebrations,” he said

With the theme “Safeguarding and salvaging our children, minors and ensuring hitch-freeSallah celebrations,”

According to him, the 120 participants were drawn from all Islamic groups across the 20 local government areas as training trainers (ToT) for stepping down to the members. Adding that out of the 120 participants, 15 are females.

The Chairman said the training is a continuous process, saying the training is organized in each of the Sallah celebrations be it Eid Kabir and Eid Fitr.

He appreciated the foundation for the initiative, stressing that the gesture would further complement the effort of the state government to ensure a successful Sallah celebration.

Also speaking on behalf of the Foundation Mr Andulrazak Wunti, said the training aimed to expose the participants to a new emergency response system and rescue of children in line with global base practices.

“It was also informed by the foundation’s determination to ensure that the thousands of Muslim faithful attending various Eid grounds are properly guided and protected.

“The foundation is concerned with the safety of worshipers before, during and after the Sallah hence the need for the training.

He urged the participants to use the knowledge acquired in a manner that would impact positively the well-being of the people of the state.

A participant, Malam Mukthar Abdulhamid assures to make good use of the knowledge and also step it down to other members.

He urged the participants to remain proactive and steadfast in their responsibilities.

Meanwhile, the Foundation however donated food items and clothing materials to all the participants.
