Girls College Anniversary: Kano Gov. Reaffirms Support for Girls’ Education, Donates N3M.

 

The Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir, has restated his administration’s dedication to supporting Girl’s girls’sary Schools to enhance educational opportunities for girls in the state.

During the event where he presented a cash sum of N3 million to the Government Girls College Gezawa Old Girls Association to the Class of 1974 for their upcoming 50th-anniversary celebration and the enhancing of a skills acquisition class at the school, Governor Abba emphasized the importance of supporting girls’ education.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani HOD, a member of the Class of 1982, the Governor highlighted that the Kano State Government places significant emphasis on Girls’ Child Education and congratulated the Association on reaching milestone of 50 years since completing school.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Special Duties, Alhaji Sabiu Shuaibu, urged the old Girls Association members to utilize the donated funds prudently.

Upon receiving the donation, the school’s principal, Hajiya Aisha Aliyu, expressed gratitude and stated that the money would go towards the 50th-anniversary celebration and enhancing skills acquisition for the students, focusing on soap and pomade making, tailoring, catering and other skills.

She commended the Kano State Governor for the donation, emphasizing how it would aid in promoting entrepreneurial education at the school.

A member of the Old Girls, Hasiya Ramatu Abubakar, lauded Hajiya Amina HOD for facilitating the donation from the Kano State Government and commended the Governor for his generous support in advancing the school.
