Gombe State Police Command clarifies on fire Incident at 34 PMF Barracks Kwami

The Gombe State Police Command has shed more light on the fire incident which engulfed part of its barracks on Wednesday 14th February.

 

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations officer (PPRO) ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar stated that the armoury was not affected as widely speculated, he also disclosed that there were no casualties of any sort involving its officers or their families.

 

The statement reads:

 

 

The Armoury of 34 PMF Kwami was not affected by the fire.

“We wish to correct the misinformation circulating regarding the recent fire incident at 34 PMF Barracks Kwami. Contrary to rumours, only the Rank and File Building Block A of 28 rooms were affected by the fire. The Squadron Armoury was not involved and remains intact.

“However, we can confirm that there were no casualties among the personnel or their families.

“The incident, which occurred on 14/02/2024, was swiftly contained with the support of boththe  Federal and State Fire Service.

“Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing. We assure the public that measures are being taken to prevent future occurrences.
