INEC presents certificates of return to 4 winners of rerun election in Bauchi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday presented certificates of return to four winners of Saturday 3 Feb. 2024 four House of Assembly rerun elections in Bauchi State.

This is contained in a press release issued by the acting head of Voter Education and Publicity, Mr Aliyu Shaaba made available to Newsmen on Monday in Bauchi.

It said, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Alhaji Mohammed Nura presented the certificates at a ceremony in Bauchi

The release lauded the members-elect for ensuring orderly and peaceful conduct of the election.

It appealed to them to focus on quality representation for the benefit of their constituents who came out on election day to speak with their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

It further urged members elect to use the opportunity of their stay in the House Housesembly to make laws that will benefit their constituents and the state at large.

The REC pray to Allah to guide them in discharging their responsibilities

The release said the member representing Ningi State constituency Yakubu Sulaiman Abubakar on behalf of the members appreciated the Commission for conducting free, fair and credible elections in the four constituencies..

That includes Bauchi, Zungur Galambi, Madara/Chinade and Ningibl, saying the results from the election have vindicated the Commission in its conduct during the 2023 general elections

INEC had on Feb. 3, conducted the re-run election in 42 polling units of three local government areas of the state following a court order.
